These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern the use of the MAAVI Wanderer Expeditions website and the booking and participation in tours, expeditions and travel services offered by MAAVI Wanderer Expeditions (“MAAVI Wanderer”, “we”, “us” or “our”).
MAAVI Wanderer provides 4×4 SUV Guided Tours, adventure bike guided trips, solo tours, group tours, road trips and Himalayan expeditions.
By making an enquiry, placing a booking, making a payment or participating in any MAAVI Wanderer tour or expedition, you acknowledge that you have read, understood and agreed to these Terms & Conditions.
1. BOOKING & CONFIRMATION
1.1
A booking request is considered confirmed only after the required booking amount or full payment has been received and confirmation has been issued by MAAVI Wanderer.
1.2
Submitting an enquiry, filling out a booking form or communicating with our team does not automatically guarantee a seat, vehicle, hotel room or tour slot.
1.3
The availability of accommodation, vehicles, motorcycles, guides and other services is subject to availability at the time of confirmation.
1.4
The person making the booking is responsible for providing accurate information for all travellers included in the booking.
1.5
MAAVI Wanderer reserves the right to refuse or cancel a booking where information provided by a customer is materially inaccurate, incomplete or misleading.
2. TOUR PRICES
2.1
All tour prices displayed on our website, social media, brochures or other promotional material are subject to change until the booking is confirmed.
2.2
The final price payable by the customer will be the price communicated at the time of booking confirmation.
2.3
Prices may vary depending on:

  • Travel dates

  • Number of participants

  • Vehicle type

  • Accommodation category

  • Tour duration

  • Route

  • Seasonal availability

  • Government charges

  • Permit requirements

  • Fuel prices

  • Third-party service-provider charges

2.4
Unless specifically stated in the package inclusions, the following may be charged separately:

  • Personal expenses

  • Lunches

  • Snacks and beverages

  • Alcoholic beverages

  • Adventure activities

  • Entry tickets

  • Additional hotel nights

  • Additional vehicle usage

  • Additional transportation

  • Personal shopping

  • Medical expenses

  • Rescue or evacuation expenses

  • Travel insurance

3. PAYMENT TERMS
3.1
The booking amount and payment schedule will be communicated at the time of booking.
3.2
A booking may remain provisional until the required payment has been received.
3.3
The remaining balance, where applicable, must be paid within the time specified by MAAVI Wanderer.
3.4
Failure to make the required payment within the specified period may result in cancellation of the booking.
3.5
Any bank charges, payment-gateway charges or transaction fees applicable to the customer's payment may be borne by the customer where applicable.
4. CANCELLATION BY CUSTOMER
4.1
Customers may request cancellation of their booking by contacting MAAVI Wanderer through the official contact details provided on the website.
4.2
Cancellation charges may apply depending on the date of cancellation and the commitments already made to hotels, camps, vehicle providers, motorcycle providers, guides and other service providers.
4.3
Unless a different cancellation policy is specifically mentioned for a particular tour, the following general cancellation structure may apply:

  • 30 days or more before departure: Cancellation subject to applicable administrative and non-refundable third-party charges.

  • 15–29 days before departure: Up to 50% of the booking amount may be retained.

  • 7–14 days before departure: Up to 75% of the booking amount may be retained.

  • Less than 7 days before departure: The booking amount may be non-refundable.

  • No-show: No refund.

4.4
Where accommodation, vehicle, permit or other supplier payments are non-refundable, those amounts may be deducted from any eligible refund.
4.5
Special cancellation terms may apply to particular expeditions and will be communicated before booking.
5. CANCELLATION OR MODIFICATION BY MAAVI WANDERER
MAAVI Wanderer reserves the right to modify, postpone, reroute or cancel a tour where reasonably necessary due to circumstances including:

  • Severe weather

  • Heavy snowfall

  • Landslides

  • Floods

  • Road closures

  • Avalanche risk

  • Government restrictions

  • Permit restrictions

  • Border or security restrictions

  • Natural disasters

  • Vehicle breakdowns

  • Accommodation unavailability

  • Local conditions

  • Force majeure events

  • Any situation affecting the safety of participants or staff

Where reasonably possible, MAAVI Wanderer will attempt to provide an alternative arrangement.
Any refund, credit or alternative arrangement will depend on the circumstances and the amounts recoverable from third-party service providers.
6. FORCE MAJEURE
MAAVI Wanderer shall not be considered responsible for failure or delay in providing services caused by circumstances beyond its reasonable control.
Such circumstances may include:

  • Natural disasters

  • Extreme weather

  • Earthquakes

  • Landslides

  • Floods

  • Avalanches

  • Road closures

  • Government restrictions

  • Strikes

  • Civil disturbances

  • War or security situations

  • Pandemics or public-health emergencies

  • Vehicle or infrastructure failures

  • Other unforeseen events beyond reasonable control

Additional expenses arising from such circumstances may be payable by the traveller unless otherwise agreed in writing.
7. ITINERARY CHANGES
7.1
Himalayan travel is subject to rapidly changing road, weather and local conditions.
7.2
The itinerary shown on the website is an intended itinerary and not an absolute guarantee that every location will be accessible.
7.3
MAAVI Wanderer may modify the route, sightseeing sequence, accommodation or schedule when reasonably necessary for safety, weather, road conditions, permits or operational reasons.
7.4
The final decision regarding route changes during an expedition may be made by the expedition leader, driver or tour manager based on prevailing conditions.
8. HIGH-ALTITUDE & ADVENTURE TRAVEL
Many MAAVI Wanderer tours operate in high-altitude and remote Himalayan regions.
Participants understand that such travel may involve:

  • High altitude

  • Rapid changes in weather

  • Cold temperatures

  • Reduced oxygen levels

  • Rough roads

  • Unpaved roads

  • Mountain passes

  • Landslides

  • Rockfall

  • Snow

  • Water crossings

  • Remote locations

  • Limited mobile connectivity

  • Limited medical facilities

  • Long travel hours

Participants are responsible for assessing their own ability to participate in the tour.
We strongly recommend that travellers obtain appropriate medical advice before participating in high-altitude or physically demanding tours.
9. MEDICAL CONDITIONS & FITNESS
9.1
Participants should inform MAAVI Wanderer of any relevant medical, mobility, dietary or accessibility requirements that may affect the tour.
9.2
Participants are responsible for carrying any required personal medication.
9.3
MAAVI Wanderer does not provide medical diagnosis, treatment or medical insurance unless specifically stated as part of a package.
9.4
If a participant becomes seriously unwell or is considered unable to safely continue the journey, MAAVI Wanderer may recommend or arrange assistance, evacuation or return travel where reasonably possible.
9.5
Costs associated with medical treatment, evacuation, additional accommodation or transportation may be the responsibility of the participant unless covered by an applicable insurance policy.
10. 4×4 SUV GUIDED TOURS
Participants travelling on MAAVI Wanderer's 4×4 SUV Guided Tours must follow the instructions of the driver, expedition leader and tour staff.
Participants must:

  • Remain seated while the vehicle is moving

  • Use seat belts where provided

  • Follow safety instructions

  • Not interfere with vehicle controls

  • Not distract the driver

  • Not stand outside the vehicle while it is moving

  • Not engage in dangerous behaviour

  • Follow local traffic and safety regulations

The vehicle used for a tour may differ from promotional photographs depending on availability.
11. ADVENTURE BIKE TOURS
Participants joining guided motorcycle or adventure bike tours must:

  • Hold a valid motorcycle driving licence where legally required

  • Wear an approved helmet

  • Follow traffic laws

  • Follow the instructions of the tour leader

  • Ride responsibly

  • Maintain a safe distance from other riders

  • Not participate while under the influence of alcohol or drugs

  • Use appropriate protective riding equipment

  • Inform the tour leader of any issue affecting their ability to ride safely

MAAVI Wanderer may refuse or stop a participant from riding if their behaviour creates a significant safety risk to themselves or others.
12. DRIVING & RIDING LICENCES
Participants operating motorcycles or other vehicles must possess all licences and documents legally required for the vehicle and location.
MAAVI Wanderer may request verification of relevant documents.
Providing false, expired or invalid documentation may result in cancellation of participation without refund where the participant's non-compliance prevents the service from being provided.
13. ALCOHOL, DRUGS & UNSAFE BEHAVIOUR
Participants must not operate a vehicle or motorcycle while under the influence of alcohol, narcotics or any substance that may impair judgement or reaction time.
MAAVI Wanderer reserves the right to remove a participant from a tour where their conduct creates a serious risk to themselves, other participants, staff, property or the public.
No refund will necessarily be provided where removal results from the participant's own misconduct.
14. ACCOMMODATION
14.1
Accommodation will be provided according to the category and inclusions specified in the selected package.
14.2
Hotels, homestays, camps and other accommodation may vary depending on availability and local conditions.
14.3
In remote Himalayan destinations, accommodation standards and facilities may differ from those available in major cities.
14.4
Heating, hot water, electricity, internet connectivity and mobile network availability cannot always be guaranteed in remote locations.
14.5
Participants are responsible for any damage caused by them to accommodation property.
15. FOOD & MEALS
Where meals are included in a package, the exact meal plan will be specified in the package inclusions.
Meals may be affected by:

  • Local availability

  • Weather

  • Road conditions

  • Accommodation facilities

  • Local supply limitations

Special dietary requirements should be communicated before the trip.
16. PERSONAL BELONGINGS
Participants are responsible for their own luggage, valuables, electronics, documents, cash and personal belongings.
MAAVI Wanderer is not responsible for loss, theft or damage to personal belongings except where liability cannot legally be excluded.
We recommend that travellers use appropriate travel insurance and keep valuable items secure.
17. VEHICLE BREAKDOWN
Although MAAVI Wanderer and its service providers take reasonable steps to maintain vehicles, mechanical failures may occur during long-distance mountain travel.
In the event of a breakdown, we will make reasonable efforts to arrange:

  • Repair

  • Replacement vehicle

  • Recovery

  • Alternative transportation

The timing of such arrangements may depend on the location, road conditions, weather and availability of local assistance.
18. ROAD CONDITIONS & DELAYS
Mountain roads may be unpredictable.
Participants acknowledge that travel times provided in itineraries are estimates and may change because of:

  • Traffic

  • Road construction

  • Landslides

  • Snow

  • Weather

  • Road closures

  • Mechanical problems

  • Local restrictions

  • Checkpoints

  • Other unforeseen circumstances

Delays caused by such circumstances do not automatically constitute a failure to provide the tour.
19. PERMITS & GOVERNMENT REQUIREMENTS
Certain destinations may require permits, registrations or identity verification.
MAAVI Wanderer may assist with such requirements where included in the package.
Participants are responsible for providing accurate documents and information required for obtaining permits.
Permit approval is ultimately subject to the relevant government or local authority.
20. TRAVEL INSURANCE
Participants are strongly encouraged to obtain suitable travel insurance before participating in an expedition.
Depending on the trip, appropriate insurance may cover:

  • Medical treatment

  • Emergency evacuation

  • Trip cancellation

  • Lost baggage

  • Personal accident

  • Adventure activities

  • Vehicle or motorcycle-related incidents, where applicable

Participants are responsible for checking that their insurance specifically covers the activities and altitude associated with their chosen tour.
21. PERSONAL EXPENSES
Unless specifically included in the package, participants are responsible for:

  • Lunch

  • Snacks

  • Beverages

  • Personal shopping

  • Laundry

  • Telephone charges

  • Medical expenses

  • Entry tickets

  • Adventure activities

  • Additional accommodation

  • Additional transportation

  • Alcoholic beverages

  • Personal equipment

  • Other personal expenses

22. PARTICIPANT CONDUCT
Participants are expected to behave respectfully towards:

  • Local communities

  • Other travellers

  • Tour staff

  • Hotel and camp staff

  • Drivers

  • Guides

  • Local authorities

  • Cultural and religious sites

  • The environment

MAAVI Wanderer does not tolerate harassment, violence, discrimination, vandalism, theft or behaviour that puts others at significant risk.
23. ENVIRONMENTAL RESPONSIBILITY
MAAVI Wanderer encourages responsible and sustainable travel.
Participants are expected to:

  • Avoid littering

  • Avoid damaging natural areas

  • Respect wildlife

  • Follow local environmental rules

  • Avoid unnecessary disturbance to local communities

  • Dispose of waste responsibly

  • Respect local culture and traditions

Participants may be held responsible for damage caused by their own deliberate or negligent actions.
24. PHOTOGRAPHS & VIDEOS
During tours and expeditions, MAAVI Wanderer or its representatives may take photographs or videos for operational, documentation and promotional purposes.
Where appropriate, permission or consent may be obtained for identifiable promotional use.
Participants who do not wish to appear in promotional material may communicate their preference to MAAVI Wanderer.
25. THIRD-PARTY SERVICES
Some services provided as part of a tour may be supplied by independent third parties, including:

  • Hotels

  • Camps

  • Homestays

  • Vehicle operators

  • Motorcycle rental providers

  • Drivers

  • Guides

  • Activity operators

  • Payment providers

MAAVI Wanderer will make reasonable efforts to work with reliable service providers but cannot control every aspect of independently operated third-party services.
26. WEBSITE INFORMATION
We make reasonable efforts to keep the information on our website accurate and current.
However, photographs, descriptions, maps, distances, itineraries, prices and other information may change due to seasonal conditions, supplier availability or operational requirements.
Website photographs are illustrative and may not represent the exact vehicle, room, accommodation or conditions available on your particular trip.
27. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY
Unless otherwise stated, the content of the MAAVI Wanderer website, including:

  • Logos

  • Brand names

  • Photographs

  • Videos

  • Graphics

  • Written content

  • Designs

  • Itineraries

  • Promotional material

is owned by or licensed to MAAVI Wanderer and may not be copied, reproduced, modified or commercially used without prior written permission.
28. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
MAAVI Wanderer will take reasonable steps to provide the services described in the confirmed booking.
However, to the extent permitted by applicable law, MAAVI Wanderer shall not be responsible for losses arising from circumstances beyond its reasonable control, including natural events, road closures, government restrictions, third-party failures, delays, weather conditions, mechanical failures or participant misconduct.
Nothing in these Terms is intended to exclude or limit liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited under applicable law.
29. CUSTOMER RESPONSIBILITY
By booking a tour, participants acknowledge that adventure and mountain travel involves inherent risks.
Participants are responsible for:

  • Providing accurate information

  • Following safety instructions

  • Following applicable laws

  • Carrying required documents

  • Maintaining appropriate personal fitness

  • Following the instructions of the expedition leader

  • Respecting local communities

  • Taking care of personal belongings

  • Informing the team of relevant requirements before departure

30. CHANGES TO THESE TERMS
MAAVI Wanderer may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time.
The latest version will be published on this website.
The Terms applicable to a confirmed booking will be those communicated or applicable at the time of booking, subject to changes required by law or circumstances beyond reasonable control.
31. PRIVACY
Personal information collected through our website and booking process will be handled in accordance with the MAAVI Wanderer Privacy Policy.
By using our website or booking our services, you acknowledge that you have read our Privacy Policy.
32. GOVERNING LAW
These Terms & Conditions shall be governed by the applicable laws of India.
Any dispute arising from or relating to the services provided by MAAVI Wanderer shall be subject to the applicable laws and jurisdiction of the competent courts and authorities in India.
33. ACCEPTANCE OF TERMS

you confirm that you have read, understood and agreed to these Terms & Conditions.
